Behind Every Success There Is An Amazing Story To Tell

I like to tell you the story on how The 1st Barack Obama Victory Celebration Music CD called "A Real Man" came into play. The song is sung by 20 years old up and coming R&B singer Cortell Tappan who is from Rahway New Jersey but now lives in Miami Florida attending college. "A Real Man" is a true story that occurred in Cortell's life. When she told me about her sad experience as a single mom , it really touched my heart. I decided to use her story as a tool to create this song.
The Pop House Track is the original song and is also on the cd. The whole production of the track was created in Febuary 2008. It only took us a weeks time to complete. After Barack Obama won the Iowa Caucus, I got the idea of using his speach from that evening and make a new remix from "A Real Man" and call it "Obama's White House Mix." Once that remix was completed, we added a video to it and then posted it on YouTube. MySpace and our business website (www.bangemrecords.net).
My wife and kids are my number one supporters. With their approval, I used the rent, utility, cabel money and some of our savings to get Project Bang'Em moving. Every cent of that money went into promotional and marketing ads for The Obama CD.
Now.., two weeks before the election, I called a cd and dvd duplication company named Mardee in South Plainfield NJ to see if there is some way we can work out a deal to get the cds pressed. I talked my way into getting them to press 6000 cd for me without putting up a dime. In two days they had The 1st Barack Obama Victorty Celebration Music CD pressed, ready and waiting at the factory floor. But I still had to find a way to get the money to pay for them. My pockets were empty and time was running out. The election was less then two weeks away.
I called all my friends and relatives to see if any of them would help by lending me the money. But they all told me that I was crazy. They said.., "Why would you go out and press 6000 Barack Obama Victory Celebration CDs less then two weeks before the election? What would you do with all the cds if Obama does not win? You should have waited after the election to make a move like that." I told them.., "That's the whole idea. I need to give out the cds before the election begins and right after the media makes the announcement that Obama is the winner." But once again, they would ask me.., "What makes you so sure that he is going to win?" I just couldn't explain it to them any more. But I knew, deep inside, that Obama was going to win the election and that I was going prove everyone wrong.
I decided to try one more friend named Ralph Carracedo. I explained to him whole idea of Project Bang'Em and gave him a presentation. He loved everything about it. And just like that... he backed me up. Ralph put up all the money for the cds and we were in business. He really went out of his way to help me when no one else would. He was more then just a friend.
Once the cds were in my hands, Team Bang'Em went right to work. From the 1st of November up until the evening of the election, we gave away a total of 5000 free cds to the Obama headquarters in NYC/NJ and to many of his supporters at Time Square. On election day, my wife and I got up at 4am in the morning to restart Project Bang'Em. We got our two boys, Cexso 9 and Beswa 7, ready for their 1st election experience. Our friend Edwin slept at our apartment to help us out in every way possible with our event. He is truly one of our stronge foot soldiers and supporters. Now the five of us went out for an early breakfast and then headed back to NYC to give out more free cds. The First place we hit was Rockefeller Center and then Time Square. Ralph and his son Tony met up with us in the early evening to help out with the promotion and distribution of the cds. We were all having a great time. The kids never complained.

1. It's amazing how these people have created a Victory Celebration Music CD for Obama and the election has not even started. That's awesome, said one supporter.
2. One man said... " No one knows for sure who is going to win... but they already have a Victory CD in hand... Now thats what you call having faith and believing in someone. God Bless Them.
3. Another supporter said... What amazes me is with all the rich famous artist and musicians in the world not one has come up with this idea. This unknown record label and their team are out here giving out free Victory Celebration Music CD in tribute to Obama four days before the election... That's surreal.
4. My friend Edwin over heard a lady tell her husband this... "Honey... Why are those people giving away free victory celebration cds... Do they Know something we don't?"
5. A person asked me what would happen if Barack Obama does not win? I said... "Obama is not going to lose... But if that was the case, My wife and I and our two little boys would be out on the streets because we used up every penny we had to make this possible. But I'm not worried about that... I Said... Obama is going to win ! ! !"
6. My wife is a very sweet person and is not violent. She approached a corporate caucasian man and offered him a free cd. The man took it, looked at it and then tossed it at my wife in disgust and told her he's for McCain.. The cd hit my wife on the chest, fell onto the concrete sidewalk, which broke the CD case open. With my wife's big sad puppy eyes, she looked the man in the face, looked down at the broken CD, then back again at the man and said to him with her soft voice, "You didn't have to do that." The man paused, took one step toward my wife, got on one knee, picked up the CD, put it back together, gave the CD back to my wife, apologized to her numerous times, then walked away with embarrassment. 7. McCain supporters were not too happy about the idea that we were going around giving away free victory celebration cds for Obama before the election even began. A young female college student, who was for McCain, told me that we should stop giving out the cds because it was not fair to the republican party. I told her... " It hasn't been fair for us for eight years."
Once it was announced that Barack Obama was The Elect President, everyone went crazy. With 400 cds left to give out, people attacked us to get a free Victory Celebration Music Cd in tribute to Obama. I took a box of CDs and ran with it to the middle of the street at Time Square and started handing them out to people in their cars. It did not take too long for the cops to show up. One grabbed me by the arm, another took the box away from me. As they were checking out the box, I was explaining to them the reason for my actions. They saw that I was giving away Free Victory Celebration Music CDs in tribute to Obama, realized that I wasn't doing anything wrong, gave me back the box and then told me to be careful.
My wife ran over to the Virgin Megastore with her best friend Lisa, who is from NYC, and got the DJ to play our cd. Everyone at the store loved it. They were all dancing to it and asking where can they get the cd. Being that we gave them all away, we gave them our business card so they can call us to get a cd. We recieved major media attention from the Daily News, NY Times and even the Japanese Press. It was an experience we will never forget... History Has Never Ever Looked This Beautiful.
